Man arrested in connection with stabbing

Black River Falls, WI (WXOW)-- A man arrested in connection with an attempted homicide in Black River Falls is in custody.

Police arrested 23-year-old Daniel Triplett in connection with the stabbing of a 32-year-old man.

Triplett was arrested by police in Tomah over the weekend.

The victim was stabbed four times. He was treated at a local hospital and released.

Charges against Triplett have not been filed according to court records, but he is in custody on other charges.

Police Chief David Frederick says the incident could have been much worse.

"It's a kitchen knife but I believe it started off at about 8 inches and about and approximately 6 inches broke off during the assault so the actual stabs were done with the remaining portion," Frederick said.

A date for Triplett's court appearance has not been set.
