La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation held an informational meeting tonight to discuss the I-90 reconstruction project.
The project is currently in the planning and design phase, and construction will not likely begin until the fall of 2013.
The $56 million project will include replacing pavement on I-90, reconfiguring and reconstructing the Exit 3 interchange, and reconstructing US 53 and HWY 35 North and South of the interstate.
Many maps of the plans for the Exit three, Highway 157, County B and County B-W interchanges were available, as well as the possible alternatives for Exit three.
Although the meeting's purpose was to inform the public of the current plan, most attended to find out more information about the Exit three alternatives.
"The $56 million dollars that you hear, that's everything from Round Lake to Theatre Road. Into Onalaska into the south side. So this meeting is what the job is, that study is the City of La Crosse and that's in their hands right now. I think we'll know by May 15th if that's even a go," said WisDOT's Project Manager Tony VanderWielen.
The next informational meeting will be held this fall.
