ST. PAUL, Minnesota (WXOW) - Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has signed a bill allowing county attorneys to carry a firearm on duty as along as they have a permit.
The bill was introduced in December after a Cook County District Attorney was shot inside a courthouse.
The law will allow judges to set rules on where guns can be carried. The County Attorney's Association says it's unlikely most judges will allow guns in courtrooms.
