Charges filed against Buffalo County bank robber

Buffalo County (WQOW) - Charges have been filed against a Buffalo County bank robber.

Duane Simon told police he did it because he was having marital and financial problems.  He's accused of robbing the bank of Alma branch in Nelson last month. Bank tellers said Simon was wearing a ski mask and pointed a gun at them. 

He was caught about five miles down the road.  Officers found nearly eleven-thousand dollars in his car, along with a bb-gun they say looked like a real handgun.

Simon's wife told detectives that he has a gambling and drug problem. Simon is due in Buffalo County Court a week from Friday.
