Three Dems. Vying for Gubernatorial Nomination Appear in Stoughton

STOUGHTON (WKOW) - Three of the Democratic candidates for governor met in Stoughton for a forum Sunday, less than one month before the primary elections.

The candidates were asked what they think sets them apart.

"My record, my vision, and I've been out there this whole last year, side-by-side with citizens," said Kathleen Falk, a former Dane County Executive.

State Senator Kathleen Vinehout (D, Alma) stressed what she believes is important to the people of Wisconsin.

"What's important to them is that we have a Governor that listens to the people and does the will of the people," said Vinehout. "Over and over again, I hear that from voters."

Wisconsin Secretary of State Doug La Follette focused on his independent credentials.

"I'm not a Madison liberal or a big city mayor," said La Follette. "I get a lot of support from Republicans and independents."

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was the only Democratic candidate for governor not at Sunday's forum. 

The winner of the May 8th Democratic primary election will face Governor Scott Walker in a June 5th recall election.
