
WOODWARD, OK (WXOW) – Officials said three children were among the five people killed when a tornado ripped through a northwest Oklahoma town on Sunday.
State medical examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliot said a man named Frank Hobie and his two daughters, ages five and seven, died after the tornado hit their mobile home park.
Elliot said the other two victims were Darren Juul and a 10-year-old girl who died when the home they were in was hit just a few miles away.
The names of the victims have not been released. Elliot said a critically injured child was air lifted to a Texas hospital.
The tornado hit a little after midnight on Sunday in Woodward, about 140 miles northwest of Oklahoma City. City Manager Alan Riffel said 89 homes and 13 businesses were destroyed.
