Oktoberfest Button Unveiled

Posted:

La Crosse, WI (WXOW)-- The 52nd Oktoberfest kicks off September 28, but Monday this year's Oktoberfest button was unveiled down at Howie's of La Crosse.

The winner of the button-design contest is Michael Wolff. He's a student at WTC and entering the contest was a class assignment.

Wolff is one of the youngest contest winners at just 18, and he beat out more than 70 other people.

This year's button follows this year's theme, 'it's all about the fest' and features Oktoberfest images like a pretzel, ferris wheel and of course the maple leaf.

Wolff says he went to Oktoberfest last year, but expects this one to be even better.

"I think it'll be a lot different because my design will be up everywhere," Wolff said. "I think they said it'll be on an 8 by 8 billboard and I think it'll be fun walking around and seeing my button design everywhere."

Wolff hasn't received a grade on the project yet, but says he expects an ‘A.'
