LA CROSSE,WI (WXOW)--Providing safe and convenient access for everyone. That's the big picture goal of what is called a 'Green Complete Streets Implementation.'

National Complete Street experts said a 'complete street' is one that is safe for bikers, walkers, bus riders and drivers.

The 'green' aspect addresses storm water run-off and will implement a design that will help reduce the amount of untreated water entering local bodies of water.

Complete Streets Instructor, Roger Henderson asked local experts about concerns at the workshop on Wednesday.

Henderson said that's the first step toward implementing 'green complete streets' in La Crosse.

"This is just a one day work shop and our role is to facilitate the people here on a day to day basis who work for city government to help them come up with ideas on how to make it part of their daily practice to do things to make the streets complete,"said Henderson.

City engineers are still in the planning phase.  For more information, visit www.completestreets.org
