Woman killed in Chippewa Falls fire

Chippewa Falls (Press Release)- The Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Services Department and the Chippewa Falls Police Departments were called to a fully involved mobile home fire located at 815 W. Park Ave., #4 at 02:49 am this morning. The mobile home is located within the Indianhead Trailer Court located on the south side of Chippewa Falls.

Police and firefighters found the trailer heavily involved in fire and dense smoke. Firefighters forced entry into the rear doorway and located an unconscious female lying in the rear hallway of the mobile home. She was rescued out of the burning trailer and immediately transported by Chippewa Falls Fire ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. The 59 year old female was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

 

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes with no damage to any exposure neighboring trailers. One firefighter was injured in the rescue operation and is currently being treated at St. Joseph's Hospital.

 

A third alarm was called by the city fire department and the Chippewa Fire District responded mutual aid with an additional ambulance.

 

The fire is under investigation and no cause has yet been determined.

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - Firefighters were called to a blaze at a residence in Chippewa Falls overnight.

Shortly before 3 a.m. Friday morning, fire crews were called to a mobile home fire at the Indianhead Manor in Chippewa Falls. When crews arrived, the home was already fully engulfed. One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. 

No word on what caused the fire.
