La Crosse, WI (WXOW)-- One week from tomorrow voters in Wisconsin will go to the polls in primary elections. Democrats will choose a candidate to face Governor Walker in the June recall election.
Today candidate Tom Barrett brought his campaign to La Crosse, accompanied by Senator Herb Kohl, who has endorsed Barrett.
His visit comes following the release of a government report last week showing Wisconsin led the nation in job loss over the past year. One place Barrett says he'd like to see job creation is alternative energy projects.
"So the first thing I would do is support things like clean energy to get more jobs in the state," Barrett said. "But I would also make sure any tax incentives we have in the state are tied to actual job creation."
Senator Kohl said he doesn't typically endorse a candidate in a primary, but made an exception for this race because he believes Barrett is the best candidate to challenge Scott Walker.
