
MILWAUKEE (WXOW) -- A new political poll released by the Marquette University Law School shows that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has opened up a 17 percent lead in the Democratic primary race for governor.
The poll shows Barrett getting 38 percent of the vote among likely Democratic voters, with former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk at 21 percent.
Secretary of State Doug La Follette and State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout (D-Alma) are both in single digits.
The poll shows that in a general election, Governor Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin) still leads over both Barrett and Falk among likely voters.
Gov. Walker has a 48 percent - 47 percent advantage over Tom Barrett.
The governor leads Kathleen Falk by a wider margin of 49 percent - 42 percent.
