Eau Claire (WQOW) -- UW-Eau Claire announces four finalists for the men's basketball head coaching position.

Those four are:

Todd Adrian-head coach, Edgewood College

Oliver Drake-head coach, Ashford University (IA)

Brian Miller-head coach, Milwaukee School of Engineering

Matt Siverling-head coach, UW-Superior

Adrian, Drake, Miller, and Siverling were selected from a pool of 96 applicants.   Adrian and Miller were among six finalists last year, when 136 individuals applied for the job.  Drake and Siverling are each former assistant coaches on the UWEC men's basketball coaching staff.

Last year's six finalists included two with Division I experience, but UWEC athletic director Scott Kilgallon says it wasn't by design that no one from the D-I level is a finalist this time around.

"I think it just fell that way," says Kilgallon, "I think one thing that I charged the search committee with is to remember our job is to get the best basketball coach for our team now and in the future.  Did we shy away from Division I? No, but I think it just fell out this way that we felt these were the cream of the crop of the candidates that we had that applied for the job."

UWEC will conduct interviews with each of the four finalists between May 7 - May 11.
