La Crosse Composite Squadron Honored at State Conference

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – La Crosse's Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron was recognized as among the best in Wisconsin this weekend at a conference in Waukesha.

The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary to the U.S. Air Force, with patrol units performing roughly 95 percent of land search and rescue missions commanded by the Air Force.

At this weekend's conference, the La Crosse Squadron was named the Wisconsin Wing Squadron of Merit, in recognition of its commitment to growth, mission and performance.

With 86 members, the La Crosse unit is the largest squadron is the largest in the state.
