Governor says companies are waiting to add jobs until after recall election

Eau Claire (WQOW)- Democrats have been focusing on the governor's results on job creation.  A recent report shows Wisconsin lost more jobs in the last year than any other state.

The governor was in Eau Claire over the weekend and we asked him about job creation.  The governor talked about a survey by Chief Executive Magazine.  That magazine ranks the best states in which to do business.  Wisconsin is moving up the rankings.  If that's true, we wondered why we haven't seen the results.

"One of the interesting sidebars is in that survey; they had a whole separate article on Wisconsin rising," Governor Walker explains. "They had employers from all across the state saying employers like what we are doing, they think we are headed in the right direction, they are optimistic about the future. But they mention what I've said for some time which is the biggest single concern they have about adding jobs is what's going to happen on June 5th."

We've heard some of the same concerns on the national scene as well that some corporations have been reluctant to make a decision on hiring until after the presidential election in November.
