MADISON (WXOW) -- State Rep. Donna Seidel won the State Senate District 29 recall primary.
Seidel, a Wausau Democrat, defeated fake Democrat Jim Buckley with 64 percent of the vote. Buckley, of Antigo, had 36 percent.
In the June 5 recall election, Seidel will face Republican Rep. Jerry Petrowski. Incumbent Sen. Pam Galloway's seat is open because she resigned after Democrats forced her into a recall. Three other Democrats are vying to replace three incumbent Republican senators.
All the recalls were spurred by the GOP senators' support for Republican Gov. Scott Walker's contentious law restricting public workers' union rights.
The four Democrats each faced Republicans running as Democrats in Tuesday's primaries. The GOP recruited the fake candidates to ensure the real Democrats had to go through primaries.
