Aircraft, K-9 used to locate hit and run suspect in Adams Co.

A Hancock man is in custody after police say he ran away from the scene of a hit and run crash.

According to the Adams Co. Sheriff's Department, 35-year-old Shawn Podoll was involved in a two vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

The crash happened on State Highway 73 and 5th Avenue in the town of Leola around 1:30 A.M. Sunday.

Podoll ran away before police arrived.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were flown to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police used aircraft and k-9s to locate Podoll. He was later arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail.

Authorities say charges are pending and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
