LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The action on the prep diamond is heating up. Holmen and Central entered Monday undefeated in the MVC, while Cashton had a chance to win a share of the Scenic Bluffs title.
Holmen hosted Central in a doubleheader at Viking field. Breaking a 2-2 tie in the 9th, Central went up 4-2 in the top half of the inning, but the Vikings answered with three runs in the bottom half, winning 5-4 in game one. They also took game two by a 4-1 margin to clinch the MVC title outright.
Cashton meanwhile, entered the day 10-1 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference before a twinbill against Brookwood. Cashton swept the Falcons winning 3-1 and 12-0 to take at least a share of the SBC championship.
