Eagles knock off North Park; keep season alive

Whitewater, WISCONSIN (WXOW)   UW-La Crosse defeated North Park 4-2 on the second day of play in the NCAA III baseball regional hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Prucha Field in Miller Stadium. 

 UW-L, 34-10 overall and 1-1 in the regional tourney, will play at 10:00am Friday against an opponent to be determined by other Thursday games.
 
UW-La Crosse and North Park combined for eighteen hits, seventeen of them singles. 

UW-L scored first, with the help of the only extra base hit, to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. 

North Park responded with two runs in the top of the fourth, using four singles. 

 La Crosse regained the lead with prototype small ball in their half of the fourth with four singles, a walk, and two sacrifices for pair of runs and a 3-2. 

 The final run of the game came on two singles and a ground out, making the Eagles' lead 4-2.  Garrett Scray upped his record to 7-3 with a complete game for La Crosse, while Nick Saldano went the distance for North Park to run his record to 10-1.
