LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- The Salvation Army continues to need support from the community and many members from WXOW News 19 were on hand this weekend for a Mother's and Father's day dinner.
More than one hundred people enjoyed a home-cooked meal.
News 19's Heather Armstrong, Lindsey Hayes, Alex Kirchner, Steffani Nolte, and Renee Zeller, along with family and friends served and volunteered at the event.
It was a sit down dinner with white table clothes, flowers and music.
All of the food was donated by local businesses.
Lindsey Hayes and The Salvation Army would like to thank Potato King, La Crosse Floral, Perkins, Old Country Buffet, North Country Steak Buffet, La Crosse Family Restaurant and the Hunger Task Force.
A message from the event: "You are all special. You are not alone. There are people in this community that care and are here to help."
