
La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A plea hearing was held Monday for two men charged in connection with the death of Sarah Hougom.
Pao Choua Vue and Kong Vue are each facing charges of First Degree Intentional Homicide as a Party to a Crime and Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide as a Party to a Crime.
According to the criminal complaint, Kong admitted to an investigator that on March 26th he and Pao Choua committed a drive by shooting at a home on Island St. then the shooting at Hougom's apartment on Division St.
The motive for shooting Hougom, according to the criminal complaint, was that she surprised Kong Vue when he entered her apartment to steal money. Vue fired the gun he was carrying as he fled. Hougom was hit and later died from gunshot wounds.
Monday, both men appeared in court where they entered Not Guilty pleas.
Their next court appearance is in July.
Both remain in the La Crosse County Jail on $1-million cash bonds.
