Area golfers do well at WIAA Regionals

Sparta, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  It was a banner day for several area golf teams at the WIAA Regionals.

In Division 1, Onalaska and Holmen both advanced to Sectionals.

Onalaska won the Reedsburg Regional with a team total of 305. 

Nick Bertram was the medalist with a 73.

All five Onalaska golfers shot 81 or under.

In Division 2, Sparta took home the regional title in a meet they hosted at River Run.

Mitchell Pauley led the way with a 77 and Garrett Geier had a 79.

Aquinas also advanced to Sectionals thanks in part to an 81 from Paul Jacobs.

Luther dominated the Division 3 Regional played at Drugan's Castle Mound.

They won by 15 strokes over 2nd place Cochrane-Fountain City.

Luther's Josh Hansen took medalist honors with a 76.

His brother Erik was second with an 82.

C-FC, Melrose-Mindoro, and Whitehall also advanced to next week's Sectionals.
