LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – The La Crosse Loggers begin their 2012 season Wednesday – and if you planning on catching any of this year's games, you'll notice a few new items for sale at Copeland Park's concession stand.
The Loggers have teamed up with La Crosse's Get Active initiative, as well as Gundersen Lutheran Hospital's "500 Club" and added healthier eating options to the menu.
Turkey sandwiches, fruit, giant pickles and even yogurt parfaits will be available all season.
Gina Dolenti, a registered dietician at Gundersen Lutheran, said she expects the new menu additions to be a big hit with Logger fans.
"There are a lot of season ticket holders and people who are at the ballpark a lot so I think they will be very popular with people who are trying to watch what they're eating," Dolenti said, "or maybe just don't want to be eating a hot dog or bratwurst three, four nights a week. There's a demand for something different."
