16-year-old arrested in arrow injury case

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - Fond du Lac County sheriff's officials say they believe a teenager is responsible for shooting an arrow that caused serious injuries to a 7-year-old Campbellsport girl.

Sheriff Mick Fink said Friday a 16-year Campbellsport boy has been arrested in the case. Fink says the boy told investigators he was shooting at squirrels when the girl was struck while playing outside her home May 21. Surgeons at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin removed the arrow embedded in the back of Aryanna Schneeberg and repaired damage to liver, lung, diaphragm and spleen. She has since been released from the hospital.

Fink says a 17-year-old male who was with the 16-year-old boy when the arrow was fired is being referred to the district attorney.
