LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)--June 5th marked the last day of school for students in the La Crosse, Onalaska and Holmen districts.
Students at Longfellow Middle School finished about 11:30.
Teachers describe the last day of school as a relaxed, catch-up day.
The students looked back at the year with their teachers and friends.
They signed yearbooks and cleaned out their lockers.
"The kids work hard, they're good people, they're fun to work with, and they're ready for a break and refresh themselves just like a lot of people are," said 7th grade science teacher Mike Johnson.
Mr. Johnson says the day can be bittersweet, because the eighth graders move on to high school in the fall.
