
Verona, WISCONSIN (WXOW) A slow start ended up costing the Holmen boys golf team Tuesday.
But they were still able to hang on to a 2nd place finish in division one at the WIAA State Golf Meet at University Ridge in Verona.
Arrowhead won the division one title, 7 strokes better then Holmen, who led the division one field by two strokes after 18 holes.
Drew Schroeder shot a 75 to lead the Vikings during day 2.
Jeremy Mason had a 76.
Onalaska was 15 strokes down to start the day and made a charge midway through the round, pulling to within 4 shots at one point.
But the Hill toppers finished 4th, 11 shots back.
Nick Bertram shot a 73 Tuesday and finished 5th overall.
Ben Skogen, the defending division one state champ, shot a two-under par 70 and finished 11th individually.
