Boater and his two dogs go over dam on Mississippi River

Buffalo County (WQOW) - A very scary situation for a Buffalo County boater, as he goes over a dam on the Mississippi River.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's Department says someone reported that a boat went through the dam in Alma. The caller reported that the operator of the boat was missing. When police arrived on scene, they found the boat driver, safe, with his two dogs near the dam. He said he was boating north of the lock and dam, but had motor trouble. He tried to paddle away from the dam, but the current pulled him into the dam. He and his dogs surfaced a short time later, unharmed.
