Riverfest Medallion Found

La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The hunt for the Riverfest Medallion is over.

Susan Safronoff and her boyfriend Paul Magnuson found the medallion in Red Cloud Park. The couple has been searching for medallions for the past four years and have been within feet of the medallion. Paul said that it was a surreal moment when they finally found one. But, they're not done yet.

Paul and Susan told us, "We're going for the trifecta...the Oktoberfest and Winterfest medallions...we absolutely will"

Susan lost a daughter two years ago and had a stone placed in Riverside Park in her honor. She said the two hundred dollars in prize money she earned by finding the medallion go to two more stones to be placed at Riverside.

Riverfest runs July 3-7th in Riverside Park in downtown La Crosse.
