Gov. Walker holds "brat summit" to heal legislative divide

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Nearly 100 state lawmakers were expected to gather at the Governor's mansion in Maple Bluff June 12 for a "beer and brat summit" with Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin).

Gov. Walker announced he would have the event during his recall election victory speech on June 5.

Walker says he is hosting the event as a show of goodwill and hopes it will help Republicans and Democrats to get in the spirit of working together on future legislation.

The event, scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., is closed to the media and the public in an effort to make it a more comfortable event for the lawmakers to exchange ideas.
