LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—Viterbo University is spending the 12 weeks between semesters this summer renovating the Howard and Lorraine Dahl School of Business.
The project calls for improvements to the first floor by creating a mock board room, executive level auditorium and collaboration rooms for team projects.
"I'm excited about the students really having a space to connect with one another outside the classroom," Thomas E. Knothe, J.D. Dahl School of Business Dean said. "So I'm excited fro the collaboration rooms, the team work rooms, the commons and the patio area where they can discuss what they've learned in the classrooms."
Knothe said he hopes the renovations attract more students to the Dahl School of Business.
"Our students need to be exposed to some executive level business spaces so they can get a feel for what it's like to work in those types of environments," Knothe said.
This summer's renovations cost about $1.1 million.
The next phase of the renovations will include improvements to the second floor of the building.
The business school project will cost a total of $2 million for all phases.
