LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - About one hundred anglers started. Only half remained on Saturday, and the end of the day left the top twelve go for glory on the nation's largest river.
Saturday trimmed the Mississippi River Rumble's field down to the elite of the Bassmaster Elite.
Todd Faircloth entered the day in the lead and did a good job to maintain that. Faircloth weighed-in with a total of 14 lbs. 13 oz. That was the fifth biggest haul of the day.
Nobody in the field had a bigger catch than Aaron Martens. Not only did he net the days biggest fish at 4 lbs. 14 oz., but that was also part of the biggest total of the day--16 lbs. 2 oz. Martens finished the day in second place.
Dean Rojas stayed in the hunt with in a nice catch as well. His five fish totaled 15 lbs. 8 oz. That put Rojas at 4th in the standings.

These competitors will launch Sunday at 6:15 a.m., all hoping to score the $100,000 grand prize. Weigh is set to begin at Veterans Freedom Park at 3:15 p.m.
