Sparta woman arrested for stealing lawn ornaments

Sparta, WI (WXOW) - A 31-year old Sparta woman is arrested for stealing lawn ornaments.

According to police they were flagged down around 3:30 Saturday morning outside of 823 Kent Street. 

The resident told police she witnessed a woman stealing a lawn ornament from her backyard. 

Police located the suspect, Amy McCurdy, running in the area of the reported theft.

They also located McCurdy's vehicle which was filled with more than 30 lawn ornaments.

McCurdy was arrested for theft, criminal trespass to land, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

She is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
