La Crosse, WI (WXOW) ------ La Crosse City Council member Jim Bloedorn is resigning his seat.
The 69 year old is moving outside his district and rules require that a council member to live in his or her district.
Bloedorn represents the 7th District on the south side.
According to the City of La Crosse website, the district encompasses the area bordered by La Crosse, Ferry, and 11th Streets. He was elected to his current term in April, 2011 and runs through April, 2015.
The site lists several committees he is a member of including Highways, Properties, and Utilities; Reapportionment; Information Technology; and the Sign Ordinance Review Committee.
His resignation takes effect on July 2nd.
