Riverfest Shortens Prep Time

Posted:

La Crosse, WI (WXOW)-- Riverfest set-up is in full swing, despite the heat today.

This year organizers and vendors are setting up Riverside Park in four days, rather than the typical two weeks. The shortened prep-time is an effort to save money on park rental fees.

One cheese curd vendor began assembling her stand early this morning, but says the scramble is worth it once the festival gets underway.

"Well, the favorite part is seeing people you haven't seen in awhile, I mean that's the best," said Jaynee Lepke, of Rocky's Supper Club. "They come back and say hello. Classmates, customers, just people that we don't get to see as often as we'd like."
