MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- A 25-year-old man wanted in the apparent stabbing of another man in Madison has turned himself in and is in custody.
Police say Matthew O'Dell was taken into custody at approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday when he turned himself in.
Authorities were called to Oak Park Terrace mobile home park on Saturday night to find a man had been severely injured. He did not survive.
Police say his injuries were consistent with stabbing, but a final cause of death was not immediately released.
On Sunday, Jean Leman told the Wisconsin State Journal (http://bit.ly/QP8ip1 ) that her daughter had broken off a nine-year relationship with the suspect, and that the victim was her daughter's new boyfriend.
Madison policed say the "violence was the result of a personal dispute between the victim and suspect."
Those who live in the 500 block of Waxwing Avenue are still trying to understand what happened.
"I was up at my house and when I heard about stuff going on, I thought it wasn't him, I thought it was somebody else," said neighbor Winifred Rodger.
Officials have not yet released the murder victim's identity.
