LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Riverfest features fourteen food vendors, and Jeremy Lagoo's lemonade stand sold roughly 500 iced drinks within two hours of opening Tuesday.

Lagoo, who is from Madison, plies his trade at carnivals and festivals around the state.

"It's an exact science, it's taken me years to perfect," Lagoo said. "What goes into it? Lemons, sugar and water."

"If I gave you the exact recipe it wouldn't be a secret, would it?" he said with a chuckle.

For those who prefer a meal with their lemonade, St. Joe's Country Market and Meats, also known as "Timmer's Meats," from St. Joseph's Ridge, has set up a booth at Riverfest for the first time.

"I just like all the friendly people. The food, the fun, just the atmosphere," said Nicole Steiger, who worked the store's booth on day one of the fest.

Owner Tim Seubert added his workers cook a mean burger and bratwurst.

"We had a lot to do to get ready but we're ready now," Seubert said. "People are starting to float down here, so we recommend coming on down and enjoying the great food."
