LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The focus of the Fourth of July may be to celebrate America, but members of the La Crosse sister city program spent time celebrating La Crosse's relationship with other countries, too.
Eleven Germans from La Crosse's sister city of Freidberg, Germany are visiting La Crosse right now, including the town's mayor.
In a gesture of friendship and appreciation, the Americans and Germans worked together to plant a tree in the German section of the International Gardens at Riverside Park.
Friedberg and La Crosse have been sister cities for ten years now, and both communities look forward to sharing many more years of friendship.
