Holmen issues burning ban

Posted:

HOLMEN, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Another municipality has issued a burning ban due to the extremely hot weather and lack of rain.

Holmen Fire Chief Doug Schober says the ban is effective immediately for the Holmen area covered by the department.

Schober says the ban covers all open burning, including brush, yard waste, and other materials.  Burn barrels, bonfires, and any campfires or recreational fires are also prohibited.

Cooking on a gas or charcoal grill is allowed.

The ban is in effect until further notice.
