MADISON (WXOW) -- The state elections board is creating a website to help military and overseas voters from Wisconsin request absentee ballots.
Currently, Wisconsin voters who are overseas have to contact their municipal clerks directly to have ballots sent to them. The Government Accountability Board is developing a website to simplify the process.
GAB spokesman Reid Magney says the site should be finished by mid-September.
A Wisconsin Public Radio report says the project is being paid for through a $1.9 million grant from the Defense Department.
