Loggers start 2nd half with win

MEQUON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The first half of the season is over, but the Loggers start the second on the right foot.

The game Thursday between La Crosse and the Lakeshore Chinooks went scoreless into the eighth inning, but that was when Logger bats exploded. They capped off a series of RBI singles with a Brandon Bednar grand slam as part of a seven-run inning.

The Loggers held the Chinooks scoreless through their final two chances, winning 7-0. Game two of a three game road series with Lakeshore begins Friday night at seven.
