Former Monroe county jailer enters plea

Sparta, WI (WXOW)- A former Monroe County jailer is pleading no content to sexually assaulting an inmate.

 

21-year-old Jerry Friedl of Sparta is charged with third degree sexual assault.  

A Monroe County inmate said Friedl assaulted her while in the county jail.

According to the criminal complaint the alleged victim said Friedl wrote her sexually explicit letter and the two had sexual contact inside the jail.

Friedl is set to be sentenced in September.
