La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - A La Crosse man will go trial for a car chase in the city.
21-year-old Nougai Xiong is charged with four counts including two felonies, all as a repeater.
Xiong along with four others were arrested after a high speed chase May 3rd.
That chase began in the parking lot attached to apartments at 721 Division Street where 20-year-old Sarah Hougom was shot.
Police says the chase and shooting are not connected.
Police say neighbors reported a suspicious vehicle with occupants in the lot.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Ramsey County, Minnesota.
When officers arrived, the vehicle sped off down Cameron Street toward the UW-La Crosse Campus.
It finally stopped in the 11th and Pine Street area.
All five occupants ran but were caught and arrested.
Xiong will go to trial in September.
19-year-old Tong Xiong was also charged in this case, he is serving 90 days behind bars.
