Latin music at "Noon Tunes"

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The "Noon Tunes" summer concert series brought a Latin sound to Riverside Park July 12.

Jazz group Latin Vibe is the third to perform in the series, sponsored by the La Crosse Rotary Club.

Concerts are every Thursday between 11:30 1:30, and guests are encouraged to bring a lunch.

The group featured steel pan, which performer Jim Knutson says people find relaxing.

"If they've ever been on a vacation to Mexico or the Caribbean, it probably takes them right back there if they've got a cold beverage in their hand," he said. "That's what it does for me."

Noon Tunes continues July 19 with music from Coulee Region Steel Drums.
