Just under 100 skaters are taking part, including a handful of local players.

New head coach John Hamre is taking over a team that struggled all last season.

"We're looking for strong skating players that see the ice well, with and without the puck. kids that are interested in making teammates around them better, not just focused on themselves but focused on each other. Typically, the players are rise in levels and abilities are players that are difference makers that make their players around them better," Hamre said.

The camp continues with scrimmages Saturday from 9am-1:20pm and 4pm to 8:20pm.

The camp all-star game is Sunday at 11am.

The public is welcome to watch any of the scrimmages.
