LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - They're not having the same kind of season as they did in the first half, but the Loggers could have a nice swing of momentum heading into the NWL All-Star Game.
Entering Sunday, they already took two from the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, securing the series win, but a sweep never hurt.
La Crosse would trail by a run early on. Jimmy Bosco changed that with a swing of the bat, sending out a solo home run to tie the game at one. It would stay that way until the top of the third, when the Rafters re-took the lead on Pat Kelly's RBI base-hit.
A one-run game would go to the eighth. That's when Rich Prigatano got his swing ready for this week's Home Run Derby. Prigatano's two-run shot--his 5th of the year--gave the Loggers a 4-3 win. La Crosse improves to 9-8 in the second half standings and 35-17 on the season.
