LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Loggers get a few days of rest before the final stretch of the summer--most of them anyway. Three Lumbermen and the coaching staff will take part in Tuesday's All-Star game festivities.
Rich Prigatano, Jake Stassi and Jacob Dorris are all set to represent La Crosse at the game in Madison with Prigatano also competing in the Home Run Derby. He got a little bit of practice for that blasting a two-run shot in Sunday's 4-3 win over Wis. Rapids.
Prigatano and his teammates said it's an honor to play with the Northwoods League's best. More than that though, they said it's going to be a little good old fun baseball.
"I'm pretty excited about it. It should be fun," Prigatano said. "That's a big part of it, putting on a good show for the fans. I'm expecting to face a lot of good pitchers, try to make a couple of cool plays in the outfield and do my best."
Dorris added, "Having your coaching staff there is going to be great too, those guys, you know. It'll be kind of stick to the same routine as how we have here, and it will make things a little more comfortable for me."
