Sparta man gets federal time for arson of store

Posted:

MADISON, Wisconsin (WXOW) - A Sparta man is sentenced to federal prison for setting fire to a convenience store in Sparta last December.

On Friday, Judge Barbara Crabb gave Bradford White a five year prison term without parole for the fire at Fast Eddies Liquor and Convenience store on December 10th. White pleaded guilty to the arson charge in May.

According to police reports, after White drove his vehicle into the building, he was seen on a surveillance video trashing the store.  He then set fire to the building using liquor as an accelerant.

Earlier in the day, according to reports, White tried to buy alcohol at the store, but was refused because he appeared to be intoxicated.
