Nicole LewisLA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Drugs and cash are seized and two arrested as La Crosse Police make a drug raid on the city's southside Wednesday.
The department's Emergency Response Team executed a search of 4625 Mormon Coulee Road #26 following an investigation by the Vice Unit for the past several months.
During the search, officers arrested Raymond R. Lewis, but not before he injured two officers, one of home had a broken hand. Also arrested was Nicole J. Lewis.
Both appeared in court Thursday afternoon for bond hearings. Raymond Lewis was given a $100,000 cash bond while Nicole Lewis received a $10,000 cash bond. Both are returning to court Friday when formal charges are expected to be filed against them.
A list of items found in the home and Raymond Lewis' vehicle included more than $4,500 in cash, crack cocaine, ecstasy, hydrocodone, and marijuana. The nearly 70 grams of crack cocaine is estimated by police as having a value of $6,900.
Prosecutors told the court that five children were at the home when police made their raid. Prosecutors also said the suspects ran counter surveillance against police by following undercover officers for miles at a time.
Police say Lewis told them he's on parole on cocaine charges in Minnesota and that he's a former member of the Gangster Disciples.
Both are held in the La Crosse County Jail.
