WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - The father of 1 of 2 missing Iowa cousins is expected to appear in court to learn whether he'll be ordered to stand trial on drug or domestic abuse charges as early as next week.
Daniel Morrissey is due in court in Waterloo on Friday morning for pre-trial conferences in four cases in which he is charged with assaulting his estranged wife and possessing, making and dealing methamphetamines.
Relatives say Morrissey had reached a plea bargain covering all four cases with prosecutors earlier this month, but that he backed out during a July 12 hearing because he wasn't ready to go to jail.
His daughter, 10-year-old Lyric Cook, and her cousin, 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins, vanished while riding their bikes in Evansdale on July 13.
