La Crosse Children's Museum gets into Olympic spirit

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Families at the La Crosse Children's Museum got into the Olympic spirit today.

The museum sponsored a day of Olympic themed activities, including an obstacle course and hand-made medals.

It's in conjunction with the "Eat Well, Play Well" traveling exhibit at the museum. That exhibit encourages kids and their parents to live healthy lifestyles.

Organizers say it's important for families to be physically active together.

"Parents are a great example, so when you come here to the museum, that's what we encourage is that parents play," said Project Director Christina Knudsen. "Because you're never too old to learn to play, and kids are watching you, and they're playing with you."

The "Eat Well, Play Well" exhibit will be at the museum through August.
