Packers try out new play clock at camp

Posted:

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The Packers' sideline looks a bit different this training camp. There's a handful of extra players hanging around thanks to new NFL roster size rules, and there's a new contraption just off the practice field.

It's a new time clock that beeps and flashes 2.5 seconds after each snap at practice. The players are still getting accustomed to the change but believe the clock will help with timing for both the offense and the defense.

Backup QB Graham Harrell said, "At some point the play is going to break down. Wide receivers have to scramble. Defensive backs know to cover longer, and the pass rush has to change. I think it's a good thing for everyone."
